Neighbourhood Services Coordinator Surgeries November

Meet Your Neighbourhood Management Team Coordinator: Alex Green

Join us at Trellick Tower on November 27th, 2024, for an opportunity to meet Alex Green, the Neighbourhood Management Team Coordinator, who will be on-site to assist residents with a range of tenancy and community issues.

Alex’s responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and resolving Anti-Social Behaviour.

  • Providing advice on move-on options and mutual exchanges.

  • Addressing tenancy-related enquiries, including assignments and successions.

  • Offering support for vulnerable residents.

  • Coordinating multiagency work to ensure comprehensive assistance for tenants.

  • Leading Ledly Estate Inspections to maintain safety and well-being.

In light of recent incidents in the area, we understand that some residents may be feeling anxious or distressed. Alex and the team are working closely with the Police to manage anti-social behaviour and minimise the impact on our community. If you have any concerns, please stop by the Neighbourhood Surgery or reach out to your Neighbourhood Services Coordinator.

This is your chance to raise any issues, get advice, and receive support from your local team. Alex is always happy to help and would love to hear from you!

Estate Inspection & Improvement Ideas: Share Your Voice!

We’re committed to ensuring Trellick Tower remains a safe, welcoming place to live, and we want to hear from you. Join us on the 26th of November for our upcoming Estate Inspection where you can report any health and safety issues directly to our team. If you notice something that needs attention, make it easy by using our online Safety Culture web form. Just click the link and report your concerns with ease.

We’re also looking for good news stories! If you’ve been involved in a local initiative that supports the community or have a success to share, send it our way. We’d love to celebrate and showcase your achievements!

Have ideas to improve your estate? Every year, we allocate an Estate Improvement Budget of £67 per household. This money can be used for projects that enhance where you live – from installing CCTV, providing bike racks, and adding new plants, to implementing automated gates. Your input matters, so please share your ideas with us!

Set Ready - FREE film and TV training

Are you a resident of Kensington & Chelsea, Kingston, or Hounslow aged 18 or over and interested in pursuing a career in Film or TV?

We are excited to announce an upcoming FREE Set Ready training course for residents of these three London boroughs. The two-day training programme will equip new entrants with the foundational knowledge, skills and confidence required to work as a Location Marshal on a large-scale film or TV production.

The course, led by expert industry professionals, will provide the essential skills to jumpstart a career in the creative industry. Upon completing the course, Set Ready will offer a paid placement on a large-scale film or high-end TV production.

The course will occur on Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th November 2024, between 10 am and 4 pm at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.

Community Meeting: Grenfell Tower Inquiry, Phase Two Report

In light of the release of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry's Phase Two report, the Council has published a summary outlining the key findings and what they mean for our relationship with residents. We are now inviting you to join us for a public meeting to discuss these important findings and what they mean for the future.

We will share how your feedback is shaping the Council’s ongoing response to the Inquiry’s findings. Keep an eye on our website for further updates.

Grenfell Projects Fund Application DEADLINE

Grenfell Projects Fund 2024/25 is now live

Are you a community provider or organisation with an idea for a project that will help the North Kensington community's recovery?

The GPF is back, offering grants to support North Kensington’s community-led recovery.

The deadline for applications has been extended to Wednesday 16 October 2024.

Hard copy application forms and support is available, get in touch via grenfellcommunityteam@rbkc.gov.uk

Almost 100 projects have been supported, including environmental, cultural, and community-led employment programmes.

This year’s fund, co-designed with North Kensington residents, focuses on:

  • Bringing the North Kensington community together

Finding new ways to bring North Kensington residents together, celebrate their shared experiences and provide open access to unite people.

  • Community-based cultural enrichment

Looking across the borough to understand both the existing cultural layout and bring in new forms of cultural experiences, particularly ones that focus on science, technology, design, art, architecture or engineering, and how North Kensington residents can access that.

  • Caring for our most vulnerable

Identifying the current gaps in community provision and addressing the needs of residents who are most vulnerable and at risk of being forgotten about.

At this meeting, you will have the chance to:

  • Hear directly from the Council’s Leader and Chief Executive about the Council’s failings and the changes we’ve implemented since 2017.

  • Share your views on whether these changes have made an impact, what still needs to improve, and what we should prioritize next.

Meeting Chair:
The event will be chaired by the former Bishop of Liverpool, James Jones KBE, known for his role as Chair of the Independent Hillsborough Panel. As an independent chair, he will ensure that as many voices as possible are heard during the discussion.

What to Expect:

  • The Leader and Chief Executive will present the findings and explain the changes made since the Grenfell tragedy.

  • Most of the meeting will focus on residents' questions, concerns, and suggestions for further action.

  • After the meeting, Council officers will be available for one-on-one conversations with those who may not have had the chance to speak during the session.

Next Steps: A follow-up meeting will be held on Thursday, 7 November, where we will share how your feedback is shaping the Council’s ongoing response to the Inquiry’s findings. Keep an eye on our website for further updates.
